The Chery Tiggo Cross — the facelifted, renamed version of the same car.

The Tiggo 4 Pro was Chery's volume compact SUV in South Africa from 2021, cross-shopped against the Nissan Magnite and Haval Jolion. Chery has since facelifted and renamed it the Tiggo Cross, so a used Tiggo 4 Pro is effectively the previous generation of a car you can still buy new. Its bigger siblings on our floor are the Tiggo 8 Pro Max and Tiggo 7 Hybrid; the closest new-brand rival we stock is the Lepas L4.

How much does a used Chery Tiggo 4 Pro cost in South Africa?

On our floor right now: R259 900 for a 2025 1.5T LiT DCT automatic with about 45 000 km, and R278 400 for a 2024 1.5T Elite manual with about 29 000 km. Those are our actual selling prices, VAT included, licensing and registration excluded.

What would the monthly instalment be on a Chery Tiggo 4 Pro?

About R4 634 a month on the R259 900 unit, and roughly R4 964 on the R278 400 one. Those are estimates on a 10% deposit over 72 months at 12.5% with no balloon — the same assumption set we use on every model page so the numbers stay comparable.

The rate a bank actually gives you depends on your credit profile and how much deposit or trade-in you put down. Send your details on the finance page and we submit to the major South African banks and come back with a real figure.

What engine and fuel economy does the Tiggo 4 Pro have?

Both units we stock are the 1.5T: a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol making 108 kW and about 210 N.m, driving the front wheels. Chery quoted 6.7 L/100 km combined; expect closer to 8 L/100 km in real Gauteng driving.

Chery Tiggo 4 Pro 1.5T specification card: 1.5-litre turbo petrol, 108 kW and 210 Nm, 6-speed manual, CVT or DCT auto, 6.7 L per 100km claimed, 340 to 1100 litre boot, front-wheel drive, now sold new as the Chery Tiggo Cross

What warranty is actually left on a used Chery Tiggo 4 Pro?

This matters more than the headline number Chery advertised. New, the Tiggo 4 Pro came with a 5-year / 150 000 km vehicle warranty, a 5-year / 60 000 km service plan, and the famous 10-year / 1 000 000 km engine warranty — but that engine cover was linked to the first owner only.

On a used one, check the cover per VIN

The balance of the 5-year vehicle warranty and the 5-year service plan can still apply if the car is inside those limits by date and kilometres. The million-kilometre engine warranty generally does not transfer to a second owner. Before you buy, get Chery to confirm in writing exactly what is left on the specific car's VIN — we will help you request it.

Both units on our floor are well inside the mileage where the vehicle warranty and service plan would normally still be running, but the date matters too. We would rather you see the written confirmation than take our word for it.

Is the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro the same as the Tiggo Cross?

Effectively yes. The Tiggo 4 Pro launched here in 2021. Chery facelifted the styling, updated the cabin, and renamed it the Tiggo Cross — which is what you buy new today, from about R273 500 on our floor. The 1.5-litre engines and the underlying platform carried over, so a tidy used Tiggo 4 Pro drives much like a new Tiggo Cross Lit for meaningfully less money.

One more name to clear up: the Tiggo 4 Pro Max is a different, larger car sold above this one — not a trim level. If you have been comparing the two, the Pro is the compact, cheaper model; the Pro Max sits a size class up.

Chery Tiggo 4 Pro — frequently asked questions

How much does a Chery Tiggo 4 Pro cost in South Africa?

At Tembani Sales in Johannesburg we have two used 1.5T Tiggo 4 Pros on the floor, priced R259 900 and R278 400 as of September 2026. New, the Tiggo 4 Pro is no longer sold — Chery replaced it with the facelifted Tiggo Cross, which starts around R273 500 on our floor. Stock moves, so confirm on WhatsApp before you travel.

What would the monthly instalment be on a Chery Tiggo 4 Pro?

Roughly R4 634 a month on our R259 900 unit and about R4 964 on the R278 400 one. Estimate only, on a 10% deposit over 72 months at 12.5% with no balloon — the same assumption set we use across our model pages. Your real rate depends on the bank and your credit profile.

What engine does the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro have?

The 1.5T versions we stock use a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine making 108 kW and about 210 N.m, driving the front wheels through a 6-speed manual or a CVT / dual-clutch automatic depending on the year. Chery also sold a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre with 85 kW earlier in the range's life.

What warranty is left on a used Chery Tiggo 4 Pro?

New, the Tiggo 4 Pro carried a 5-year/150 000 km vehicle warranty, a 5-year/60 000 km service plan, and a 10-year/1 000 000 km engine warranty linked to the first owner only. On a used car, the balance of the 5-year vehicle warranty and service plan may still apply if within period, but the million-kilometre engine cover generally does not carry over. Confirm what is left for the specific VIN with Chery before you buy.

Is the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro the same as the Chery Tiggo Cross?

Effectively yes. The Tiggo 4 Pro was Chery's compact SUV in South Africa from 2021. Chery facelifted and renamed it the Tiggo Cross, which is what you buy new today. The mechanical package — the 1.5-litre engines and the platform — carried over, so a used Tiggo 4 Pro and a new Tiggo Cross Lit are close relatives.

What is the difference between the Tiggo 4 Pro and the Tiggo 4 Pro Max?

The Tiggo 4 Pro Max is a larger, more powerful model sold above the Tiggo 4 Pro, with a bigger turbo engine and more equipment — not a trim of the same car. If you have been searching both, the Pro is the compact, more affordable one; the Pro Max sits a class up on size and price.

Is the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro available in Johannesburg?

Yes — we have used Tiggo 4 Pro stock at Tembani Sales, Park Meadows Shopping Centre, South Kensington, Johannesburg. Come and see it, or message Tembani on WhatsApp for photos and a walkaround video the same day. We deliver nationwide if you are not in Gauteng.

Can I trade my current car in against a Chery Tiggo 4 Pro?

Yes. Send us your car's details and we'll give you a straight trade-in figure, usually the same day, and set it against the Tiggo 4 Pro so you can see the real difference to pay. There's no charge and no obligation.
