A new 2026 Nissan Navara 2.5DDTi PRO-2X automatic double cab is R689 900 at Tembani Sales in Johannesburg — R92 300 below Nissan South Africa's R782 200 list price. It has a 140 kW / 450 Nm turbodiesel and tows 3 500 kg. We also have used Navara Stealths and a PRO-4X Warrior.
Last updated 7 October 2026
The Navara is Nissan's one-tonne double cab — the bakkie you buy when a basic workhorse isn't enough and you want a 7-speed auto, a coil-sprung rear and 3.5-tonne towing. If you only need a single-cab workhorse, our GWM Steed 5 costs R340 000 less. If it's really the family car, compare the Chery Tiggo 9 seven-seater, or the Chery Tiggo V, an SUV that converts into a light double cab. On a smaller budget, see the Nissan Magnite.
Our new PRO-2X is R689 900. That's a 2026 unit with 65 km on the clock, priced well under Nissan's list. Our used Navaras are in the live stock grid further down — confirm each one's year, kilometres and price in writing before you commit, because those listings are still being finalised.

All four share the same 140 kW / 450 Nm engine and 7-speed auto. The differences are the driven wheels, the off-road kit and the styling.
Every Navara double cab has an electronic rear differential lock as standard — the 4x2s included — which helps a PRO-2X on a muddy farm road.

Specs from Nissan South Africa's official Navara brochure (PDF, ~11 MB), opened 7 October 2026. Fuel use is Nissan's claimed figure; towing, load and altitude will push it up.
3 500 kg braked, on every double cab. Payload is where the grades split.
| Grade | Payload | Braked towing | Drive |
|---|---|---|---|
| PRO-2X / Stealth 4x2 | 1 086 kg | 3 500 kg | 4x2 |
| PRO-4X / Stealth 4x4 | 1 003 kg | 3 500 kg | 4x4 |
| PRO-4X Warrior | 892 kg | 3 500 kg | 4x4 |
Here's the catch nobody mentions: the gross combination mass is 6 130 kg. Hook up a full 3 500 kg trailer and you can't also load the bay to the brim.
Nissan's towing advisory says a trailer over 750 kg needs its own brakes. Check the GVM and tare on the specific bakkie's licence papers — canopies, tow bars and nudge bars all eat into payload.
No — local production has ended. Nissan agreed in January 2026 to sell its Rosslyn plant in Tshwane, where the Navara was built, to Chery South Africa, as reported by Sowetan. BusinessTech reported in June 2026 that local manufacturing has stopped.
What that means for you: Nissan said the sale would not affect retail sales and service, and it's staying on in South Africa as an importer and distributor.

A double cab is a R700 000 decision. You'll get straight answers on warranty balance, kilometres and papers from Tembani himself — not a junior on a sales floor. We've been trading in Johannesburg since 2019.
Our 2026 Nissan Navara 2.5DDTi PRO-2X automatic double cab is R689 900 at Tembani Sales in Johannesburg, about R12 301 a month on a 10% deposit over 72 months at 12.5%. As of 7 October 2026, Nissan South Africa lists the same PRO-2X 4x2 at R782 200, and the Navara double-cab range from R493 000.
Nissan South Africa lists the Navara Stealth 4x2 automatic from R695 200 as of 7 October 2026, and Cars.co.za reported the Stealth 4x4 at R779 200 when it launched in July 2025. We have used Navara Stealths on our floor; WhatsApp us for the confirmed year, kilometres and price of each unit in writing.
The PRO-2X drives the rear wheels only (4x2); the PRO-4X is a 4x4 with hill descent control. Both use the 140 kW / 450 Nm 2.5-litre turbodiesel and 7-speed automatic, and both get Nissan's Around View Monitor. Nissan lists the PRO-2X at R782 200 and the PRO-4X at R844 000. The PRO-2X carries more payload: 1 086 kg against 1 003 kg.
The Warrior is the toughest-looking grade in Nissan's Navara brochure: a PRO-4X 4x4 automatic with wider tracks, 232 mm ground clearance, a 35-degree approach angle and LT 275/65 R17 Maxxis Razr all-terrain tyres. The extra kit costs payload: Nissan quotes 892 kg, against 1 003 kg for the standard PRO-4X. We have one used Warrior listed.
Every Navara double cab in Nissan South Africa's brochure is rated to tow 3 500 kg braked and 750 kg unbraked, with a 6 130 kg gross combination mass. Payload depends on the grade: 1 086 kg for the PRO-2X and Stealth 4x2, 1 003 kg for the PRO-4X and Stealth 4x4, and 892 kg for the PRO-4X Warrior.
Nissan South Africa's Navara brochure lists a 6-year / 150 000 km warranty and a 6-year / 90 000 km service plan on every double-cab grade, with services every 15 000 km. On a used Navara, both run from the first registration date, so ask us how much cover is left on the specific unit before you sign.
No. The Navara was built at Nissan's Rosslyn plant in Tshwane, which is being sold to Chery South Africa, and BusinessTech reported in June 2026 that local manufacturing has stopped. Nissan said the sale would not affect retail sales and service, and it continues in South Africa as an importer and distributor.
Every Navara double cab in Nissan South Africa's current brochure is diesel: a 2.5-litre turbodiesel making 120 kW / 403 Nm in the entry grades and 140 kW / 450 Nm from the LE up, including the Stealth, PRO-2X and PRO-4X. Nissan's site also mentions a 2.5-litre petrol engine, but none of the double-cab grades listed in the brochure use it.
Yes. Send us your car's details for a free trade-in valuation, usually back the same day, and we'll set it against the Navara price so you see the real balance to pay or finance. Bakkies and SUVs both trade in well against a double cab.
Yes, we deliver nationwide, not just around Gauteng. Tell Tembani which town you're in and he'll confirm the delivery cost and timing up front. Finance, the trade-in valuation and the paperwork can all be handled remotely on WhatsApp, so you don't need to travel to buy.
Message Tembani for more photos, the papers on any unit, and a finance estimate — usually within the hour.
